Everything You Need to Know About our mail-in film developing services

How do I send my film for mail-in developing?
You can either use our prepaid bulk mail label or ship using your own trackable service. Simply pack your film securely with the order form and drop it at your nearest post office. We will notify you once your film arrives safely to us.
What is the duration needed to have my film get to your lab?
Orders on the prepaid label usually require 5-21 days to deliver, although this varies by where you live and the activities of USPS. For faster delivery, we recommend you use express shipping.
What happens in case I require quicker or safer shipping of my film?
We suggest that you use your own trackable shipping method so that you can deliver it faster or when it is urgent. Express services like FedEx often ensure timely arrivals.
Who will pay in case my package is lost on its way to your lab?
The Icon is not responsible for your items until they are received at our facility. We advise you to use reliable tracking methods. Once received, your film is handled with care from start to finish.
What film types do you develop through the mail-in service?
We develop color C-41, black and white (BW), E6 slide film, and disposable camera film. Both 35mm and 120 format and sheet film are accepted via mail-in service.
Will I get digital scans of my film after developing?
Scans are available for purchase. We offer optional high-resolution scans using Imacon or Drum scanners for sheet and roll film. You can receive files via a download link or USB drive for quick access.
What if I forgot to include tracking info in my order?
No worries. Just email your order number and tracking details as soon as possible for smooth processing. This helps us match your shipment quickly upon arrival. Lastly, we will confirm your order when it is received.
What is your shipping method for returning my developed film and prints?
We use secure, tracked shipping methods for all returns. Return shipping costs are calculated at checkout and ensure your valuable negatives and prints arrive safely.
Is it possible to send all kinds of film to your laboratory?
Yes. We receive any standard 35mm and 120 Medium Format and Sheet Film that utilizes either C-41, Black and White, or E-6 chemistry.
How fast can I download my digital files after you send the link?
Please download your digital files immediately. All files are automatically deleted from our secure servers after 14 days (about 2 weeks) to ensure server maintenance and security.
How much does it cost to get film developed?
The cost to develop film starts from $10 to $20 per roll. However, this may vary according to the format or service type, and additional options like scans or prints. For sheet film or specialty formats, pricing is calculated based on size and processing chemistry (C-41, B&W, or E-6).
