In Los Angeles, just past the facade of the Hollywood sign, and at the ends of endless freeways, exists a world of wildness. If you have the right perspective you will find it hidden in plain sight. Here, in parks and open spaces within the city limits, we can seek respite from the constraints and pressures of our self imposed domestication. These moments allow us to reawaken our primitiveness, to dream, and indulge in fantasy.
The photographs in this series are a visual speculative fiction. They were taken during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The relatively quiet streets gave me the perfect opportunity to explore my home, and reimagine what the geography of a future Los Angeles might look like when human beings are no longer present.
